Vermont Dispensary Directory

100+ retailers across the Green Mountain State, 576 total licensees, and more cannabis shops than state-run liquor stores. Vermont's craft market is the most localized in the country.

Last verified: March 2026

Vermont's cannabis market has grown from the first three retail licenses in September 2022 to over 100 operating retailers by early 2026 — with 576 total licensees across cultivation, manufacturing, retail, and testing. That is more cannabis shops than the state's 79 state-run liquor stores, a milestone reached by mid-2025. Only 78 of 247 municipalities (32%) have opted in to allow retail cannabis, meaning the shops that do exist serve outsized regional demand.

Regional Overview

Burlington & Chittenden County

Vermont's largest market with approximately 20 dispensaries in the Burlington-Winooski-South Burlington corridor. Highlights include Bern Gallery (Seven Daysies "Best Dispensary" 2024), Green State Dispensary (4.9 Leafly rating), and TRUE 802 Cannabis on Church Street. The region also suffered the market's most notable closure: Ceres Collaborative shut down in late 2024 following SLANG Worldwide's bankruptcy.

Southern Vermont

The Brattleboro-Bennington-Manchester corridor serves heavy New Hampshire cross-border traffic. Vermont Bud Barn (2024 Reader's Choice, vertically integrated) and Cannabis Maximus (daily happy hour 3–6 PM) anchor Brattleboro, while Juniper Lane (female-owned, medical-use endorsed) serves Bennington.

Central Vermont

From the capital in Montpelier to the ski corridors of Stowe and Killington. Capital Cannabis Company (100% woman-owned, RN-founded) anchors Montpelier, Zenbarn Farms in Waterbury Center doubles as an education hub, and FLŌRA Cannabis in Middlebury was one of the first three retail licenses in state history. Mountain Girl Cannabis in Rutland holds the distinction of being Vermont's first licensee.

Northern Vermont & Northeast Kingdom

Sparsely populated but strategically located near the Canadian border. Cambridge Cannabis Company (5.0 rating, 55 reviews) markets to border visitors — Québec is roughly 45 minutes away. Mary Jane Junction and MothaPlant in St. Albans serve the I-89 corridor, while Northeast Kannabis in St. Johnsbury is the NEK's medical-endorsed option.

Upper Valley

The I-91/I-89 junction at White River Junction captures significant New Hampshire traffic. The Tea House (minority and woman-owned, social equity licensee) and The Hidden Grove (25–40% below area average pricing) both serve WRJ, while Sunday Drive in Woodstock caters to the tourism corridor.

The 100% Vermont-Made Difference

Vermont's Cannabis Control Board requires all products sold at retail to be cultivated, processed, and packaged within state lines. No out-of-state brands can enter the market. This creates a true craft ecosystem — every dollar spent at a Vermont dispensary supports Vermont growers, processors, and small businesses. The trade-off is less variety than states flooded with multi-state operator brands, but what is on the shelf tends to be fresher, more distinctive, and grown by people who live in the communities they serve.

Maple THC Products

Vermont is the only state where you will find maple-infused THC products — a uniquely Green Mountain State creation. Vermont Select's Maple Plus THC line is available at 37+ locations statewide.
